(Pollachius Virens)
AN IMPORTANT FISH RELATED TO COD
Saithe/Pollock (Gadus virens), 70-100 cm.
Saithe is related to cod and is of the Gadus-family. A very important
fish. Compared to cod the fish is darker in colour.
Saithe is caught in the same areas as cod, i.e. the North Sea around
Denmark and in the Northern Atlantic Ocean near the Faroe Islands and Iceland.

Season: mainly from January to May, but there are regular catches throughout the year.
